A man was killed and six others, including a woman, were injured following a gas explosion at a CNG filling station in Mymensingh this afternoon.
The deceased is Himel Mia, 26, a private car driver, said police.
Police are yet to confirm the identities of the injured.
Quoting locals, Md Shafiqul Islam Khan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said the blast happened around 3:00pm at Azhar Filling Station and Intraco CNG Gas Pump in the Rohmotpur bypass area.
A leak in the gas supply pipe reportedly triggered the explosion when a private car was refueling CNG, killing Himel Mia on the spot and injuring six others, he said.
The OC added that six fire engines responded to the scene, bringing the fire under control within 30 minutes.
The injured are private car passengers and staff at the CNG station, police said.
