Apsana Begum is the youngest of the four current British MPs of Bangladeshi origin. She was elected for two consecutive terms from the Poplar and Limehouse constituency in East London’s Tower Hamlets. She protested the killing of students during the anti-discrimination student movement. She has also written a letter to the relevant office in the UK, requesting an investigation into the properties of former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury. Recently, she spoke in an interview with Prothom Alo’s London correspondent Saidul Islam.
