Bangladesh’s interim government on Wednesday banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League, on Wednesday.
The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard. The decision will be implemented under Clause 18(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2009.
The organization was banned for alleged involvement in the killing, abduction, sexual harassment, forced disappearance, and others during the 15-year rule of Sheikh Hasina-lead Awami League and for killing students and mass people during the recent student-led mass uprising in the country.
