The Report Correspondent: Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh Isa Yousuf Isa Al-Duhailan has expressed interest in recruiting skilled and trained personnel. He also said that the Saudi embassy is issuing a lot of visas every day.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the Foreign Secretary shared with the Ambassador some recent developments in the country besides the initiatives taken by the interim government and the reform agenda.

The ambassador told the foreign secretary that the Saudi embassy is issuing a large number of visas every day, adding to the 300,000 workers already deployed in Saudi Arabia. He expressed his interest in implementing the Saudi Arabian government's green initiatives and employing skilled and trained personnel in mega projects under the country's Vision 2023.

The foreign secretary appreciated Saudi Arabia's role in reducing regional tensions and promoting stability. Appreciating the leadership role of the Islamic Ummah, he reiterated Bangladesh's unwavering support to Saudi Arabia in achieving regional stability. He expressed Bangladesh's solidarity with the Palestinian issue and called for urgent steps for a two-state solution.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude by recalling Bangladesh's steadfast support to Saudi Arabia in various international forums including the upcoming 2034 Football World Cup and IORA.

During the meeting, the ambassador apprised the foreign secretary about some of the pending Saudi initiatives, including the establishment of an iconic mosque and an Arabic language institute in Dhaka. Seeks cooperation to speed them up. The Ambassador briefed the Secretary on port supplies and current Saudi investment initiatives in the renewable and power sectors.

Both sides stressed the need for continued engagement between the governments of the two countries on political consultations and the high-level Joint Economic Commission (JEC) as well as the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) on Manpower.
